ZMT Attends Jiangsu Distinctive Town Symposium 2017
Jiangsu Distinctive Town Symposium 2017 co-organized by Zijin Media Think Tank and government agencies was held at Nanjing Jinling Binjiang Hotel on March 1.

This Symposium was divided into four sessions: Policy Interpretations, Keynote Speeches on Integration of Production, Life and Ecology, Introduction of Zhejiang province’s Experience and Roundtable Discussion on Production, Town and Culture. Experts from Zijin Media Think Tank and government departments impressed audiences with their insightful and discerning remarks on various aspects of building distinctive towns in Jiangsu.

During the policy interpretations, participants acquired, after viewing publicity film and MG animation, that Jiangsu has a strong-mind to cultivate around 100 distinctive towns featuring special industries, flexible mechanisms, deep culture and striking ecological environment within five years.

By citing examples and conjoining their own know-how, keynote speakers made suggestions on building distinctive towns from three standpoints: production, life and ecology.

Xiao Jinsong, former director of CCID Research Institute, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, P.R.C., gave a speech on March 1.
Professor Zhou Xiaohong, Dean of School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Nanjing University & Chairman of Zijin Media Think Tank, delivered a keynote speech on March 1.
During his speech Industrial Transformation and Cultural Rebuilding: Pattern to Construct Distinctive Towns, Professor Zhou indicated that, as a pioneer of distinctive towns, Zhejiang province provided experience and enlightenment for building distinctive towns. For example, Zhejiang government gave more priority and autonomy on construction instead of application. Based on humanization and integration of production, life and ecology, town planning aims at creating a 10-minutes working life circle, which could attract more innovative entrepreneurs and high-end industries.
“Distinctive town’s construction should firstly optimize the productivity of industries, create more effective supply and promote industrial transformation and upgrading,” said Mr. Zhou, “Jiangsu province, particularly, can focus more on cultural and community rebuilding, encourage innovative culture and life style, and embrace adventure, persistence, stimulation and openness.” He believes that distinctive towns in Jiangsu province will be the new engine driving economic growth in Yangtze River Delta.

Government officials and corporate managers from Zhejiang province illustrated their experience on distinctive town’s investment, planning, building and operation.
Qian Zhe, vice director of Rural and Urban Restructuring Office, Zhejiang Development & Reform Commission, shared Zhejiang’s experience on building distinctive towns in her speech How to Build High-quality Distinctive Towns.
Shi Changhong, director of No. 2 Review Bureau, National Development Bank, highlighted the important role played by the Bank in supporting distinctive towns’ finances in her speech.

Yuan Hong, vice-chairman of Zhejiang Greenroot Information Co., Ltd., gave a speech on March 1.
